Conservative activists and opinion leaders from across the country flocked to Washington DC to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference on February 18-20. CPAC is the nation’s largest annual gathering of conservatives – this year over 10,000 attendees turned out to hear speakers such as former Vice President Dick Cheney, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Governor Mitt Romney, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and many others expound on conservative thought in the nation.
The Online Tax Revolt was launched on the first day of the conference, and immediately attracted a groundswell of support from attendees. An interactive display was available allowing attendees to join the Online Tax Revolt march. All attendees were unanimous in their opinion that taxes and spending are out of control, and were grateful that the Online Tax Revolt was available to allow them to march on Washington and take their case directly to the politicians.
“I was pleased that so many CPAC attendees embraced the Online Tax Revolt so quickly,” said Ken Hoagland, a CPAC attendee and Chairman of the Online Tax Revolt. “They realized that we have a powerful tool to wake-up Washington to the fact that things have to change – and change now. This march sends a clear signal to the politicians: give us lower taxes and a tax structure that’s fair.”
CPAC attendees were encouraged to tell their friends and families to join the Online Tax Revolt, and by the end of that first day over 12,000 Americans had joined up to march on Washington. In what has truly struck a nerve with the American people, the number of marchers has grown to over 50,000 and counting.
